My name is Jennifer Mogle. I am an expert on senior care and advice for seniors. I started out as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant in 1996 with one of the nation's top five skilled nursing facilities. Quickly I developed a love caring for seniors. I began work as a care manager and medication technician with one of the nation's top Assisted Living and Alzheimer's care providers. Working my way into a rewarding management career as an Alzheimer's Unit Coordinator, over the next 10 years, I often found myself thinking how I could assist seniors with the ability to stay at home longer, with the options and services they had available to them. Although these and many other corporations provide wonderful examples of senior care, wouldn't you want your parents to be able to stay in their own home for as long as possible? I also found that I could assist seniors and their families with expert advice on finding senior care facilities when the time is right.
Most families are not aware of the predatory sales tactics used to sway senior's decisions when choosing a continuing senior care community or facility. Your loved one can become exploited and victimized if the proper time is not spent researching the options available. The 'free' internet based agencies out there advertising to you and your loved one will only refer you to the senior care facilities that pay huge fees to advertise with them. Often, this reduces their budgets elsewhere, such as; lower wages for their employees and less incentives for direct care workers. This results in increased staff turnover at these facilities, endangering the well-being of your loved one if placed there.
As your senior care consultant, I can offer you and your family direct, face to face meetings, and experience based knowledge of local senior care facilities and housing that has proven records of direct care staff retention and resident focused care.
With many years experience of working in senior healthcare, I am knowledgable of all avenues of the aging process. Having assisted families with touring in many facilities, I have a deep understanding of the move-in/admission process to a senior housing facility. I was a trained facilitator with the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association for over 5 years, conducting support groups for seniors and their caregivers. I worked closely with therapists, hospice services, and physicians to ensure my residents received adequate care.
My own father was a World War II veteran, and I also assisted him with obtaining Veteran's Benefits. He suffered from Parkinson's Disease before dying from complications due to pneumonia at the age of 84. How we wish we could have avoided him dying at a hospital, if only we had resources such as this service available to our family at that time. I am willing to guide a veteran in the appropriate direction for you to begin the process to access the benefits that you or your loved one may be entitled to.* (Federal Regulations prohibit anyone from charging a fee for assisting a veteran with paperwork and accessing their benefits.)
Also, my mother was a 15 year theraputic recreational director for a leading senior nursing home in the Delmarva Region. She died after a brief battle with breast cancer. I know hands on, what comforts you want for your parents in their golden years.
I am a loyal, trustworthy individual with just over 20 years experience of assisting seniors and their families with difficult choices. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have a certification from Durham Technical Community College for the North Carolina activities professionals requirement. My personal goal is to pursue a degree in Gerontology.
